NOVO Industries · Vertical specialization

Substantive vertical depth across industries NOVO serves.

NOVO's vertical specialization is concrete: understanding of the regulatory frameworks, operational requirements, and Microsoft platform configurations specific to each industry NOVO serves. Not “we serve your industry” but “we know your framework, your operational reality, and the Microsoft platform configuration that fits.”

Why vertical specialization

What "vertical depth" actually means at NOVO.

“Vertical specialization” is one of the most overused phrases in technology services. NOVO's claim is in three specific directions — regulatory framework depth, operational specialization, and Microsoft platform fit — each of which is verifiable from initial conversations rather than a generic claim of “industry experience.”

Block 1 · Regulatory framework depth

Substantive understanding of the frameworks specific to each industry.

Different industries operate under different regulatory frameworks — and the work of compliance differs meaningfully between them. CMMC for DoD suppliers is a fundamentally different operational reality from HIPAA for biotech firms, which is different from NERC CIP for petro asset operators, which is different from FedRAMP for government contractors. NOVO's vertical depth means understanding of which frameworks apply to which customers, what those frameworks actually require in technical and operational terms, and where the risks sit for each vertical.

Not “we do compliance” — but “we know your specific framework, what Microsoft platform configurations satisfy it, and where the operational risks live in your vertical.” The dedicated industry pages substantiate this depth per vertical.

Block 2 · Operational specialization

Vertical-specific operational practices and Microsoft platform configurations.

Microsoft platform configurations vary by vertical — and those configurations aren't theoretical. NOVO has deployed them in production for customers across the industries served. Operational technology / IT integration looks different in petro environments than in pharmaceutical research environments. Multi-site operations look different across manufacturing networks than across aviation MRO operations. Identity and access management looks different in DoD-cleared environments than in non-profit volunteer-management environments.

The vertical-specific operational substance is what differentiates NOVO from generic technology services that have an “industries served” page but no understanding of what's different about operating in each industry.

Block 3 · Microsoft platform fit

Microsoft's platform delivers different value to different industries. NOVO knows the difference.

Microsoft 365 GCC is a fundamentally different deployment from Microsoft 365 Charity SKU. Azure regulated workloads for HIPAA / FedRAMP / CMMC are configured differently than commercial Azure workloads. ITAR-aligned tenant configurations are operationally distinct from standard tenant configurations. NOVO's job is partly translation — taking Microsoft's general platform capability and configuring it for each vertical's specific operational reality. The translation requires knowledge of both sides: Microsoft's platform depth and each vertical's operational requirements.

The Microsoft Direct CSP relationship NOVO operates under makes the vertical-specific Microsoft licensing actually buyable at the right tier and the right price — supporting whatever vertical configuration the customer's operational reality requires.

NOVO industries

Find your industry.

Each industry below has its own dedicated page describing the customer's typical reality, the regulatory and operational substance, the Microsoft platform configurations, and the NOVO services most relevant. The cross-portfolio service anchors on each card show the three layers customers typically engage: the foundational layer (License, Cloud, Care) that runs across every NOVO engagement, the strategic entry point (Compass) where most engagements begin, and the vertical specialty (Compliance and Secure where applicable) driven by each industry's regulatory and operational reality.

Each industry page describes the customer's typical reality, the regulatory and operational substance, the Microsoft platform configurations, and the NOVO services most relevant to that vertical's operational reality. Most customers engage NOVO across two or three services rather than just one — which is part of why “integrated technology partner” is the right framing for NOVO's relationship with customers.

Industry not listed?

NOVO serves customers across many industries beyond the eight highlighted here.

The eight verticals above represent industries where NOVO has built vertical depth — customer concentration, regulatory and operational expertise, and Microsoft platform configurations calibrated to that vertical's reality. NOVO's customer base extends beyond these eight. Construction, real estate, retail and consumer services, hospitality, transportation and logistics-adjacent operations, technology and software businesses, and other industries are part of NOVO's actual customer base — even where NOVO doesn't currently maintain dedicated vertical pages.

The NOVO offering doesn't change with industry. The integrated technology partner model — License + Cloud + Compass + Care, with Secure and Compliance where regulatory or cybersecurity reality requires them — applies across the SMB customer base regardless of vertical specialty. What changes is the calibration: the Microsoft platform configuration, the applied AI workflows, the operational systems, and (where applicable) the regulatory framework alignment all calibrate to your specific industry reality.

If your industry isn't represented above, the NOVO conversation is the same — start with your operational reality, your regulatory framework reality (if any), and your AI ambition, and we'll talk through what makes sense for your specific situation.

Ready when you are

The fastest way to know what NOVO can do for your industry is to start a conversation.

Tell us about your industry-specific reality — the upstream petro firm modernizing operational technology under cybersecurity framework constraints, the Defense Industrial Base contractor preparing for CMMC certification, the manufacturer integrating supply chain operations across multiple sites, the biotech firm protecting research IP under HIPAA and GxP requirements, the aviation MRO operator managing ITAR-controlled documentation, the government agency or contractor navigating FedRAMP and NIST 800-171, the professional services firm closing the gap between client-data-protection duty and operational reality, the non-profit organization optimizing Microsoft Charity licensing. Whether your priority is regulatory framework alignment, operational technology integration, Microsoft platform deployment in your specific vertical configuration, or all of the above, we'll talk through what makes sense for your situation.
